These are unlike anything I've ever seen. It appears that artist Yula Brodskaya takes long thin strips of paper, bends and curls them, arranges them on their side, and then takes photos of them to create the images you see below. She calls this papergraphic illustration. She also does a variety of other types of illustration and graphic design which you can see on her website.

isn't this called quilling? Although he has totally made it his own.
